O problema do Lord Vinheteiro não é que ele interpreta um personagem. O problema é que o personagem serve como escudo para normalizar preconceito, elitismo e hostilidade social, enquanto seus fãs tratam tudo como piada.

Nem tudo pode ser desculpado com "é só um personagem". Se o personagem passa o tempo todo espalhando elitismo, xenofobia ou preconceito, e o público começa a concordar com essas ideias em vez de rir delas, então isso vai além do humor. Em algum momento, "é só sátira" deixa de ser uma justificativa e vira uma forma de evitar críticas.

I used to cheer for them because their success makes Concacaf look stronger. However, their fan base has become insufferable (along with England’s fan base). Both fan bases love to gate-keep the sport, so I’m cheering for any team who plays against Mexico or England.

Mon unique expérience personnelle fut extrêmement négative. Le simple fait de ne pas se revendiquer de gauche, et c'était fini. Terminado. J'avais beau avoir côtoyé toute la promo pendant 2 ans, ça ne changeait rien. Avant ça, tout le monde m'appréciait, rigolait avec moi, m'invitait à des petites soirées et des activités, etc etc... Seules les quelques personnes avec qui j'étais le plus proche dans la classe ont continué à me parler normalement on va dire, dont certaines semblaient gênées. Heureusement que j'avais mes plus proches amis en dehors des cours!

Un soir, dans le groupe de promo, je tombe sur un pavé extrêmement orienté politiquement (en même temps, à la fac, il enfonçait des portes ouvertes) qui disait grossomodo que "s'opposer au RN est une évidence morale" et qui diffamait les électeurs sur la base de "faits" qui étaient, selon moi, fallacieux et sujets à mésinterprétation.

Je réponds juste poliment en demandant pourquoi il ramène ça ici (sur le groupe de promo) et en expliquant que voter contre une loi =/= être contre l'intitulé de la loi. J'avais illustré ce propos par un exemple quelconque que j'avais inventé, en disant que si je créais un projet de loi "lutte contre la pauvreté" dans lequel je donne 5 centimes à chaque SDF et dépense 2 millions dans une campagne de pub, et bah c'était bien de la merde. BREF.

En fait, j'avais pas vu que les 3/4 de la promo avaient déjà liké son pavé. Ah! Je vous épargne la suite des échanges, mais grossomodo si je devais résumer ça serait "tg et ratio le facho". J'ai un pote de classe (qui était de droite) qui a essayé de me défendre, mais il s'est juste mangé une insulte homophobe "Ouais *prénom* on sait que t'aimes bien sucer la b... de *OP* mais tu pourrais faire ça en privé stp?"

Tout le monde a laissé pisser, alors que moi je me suis mangé une tornade de réactions pour ne pas avoir voulu de propagande politique dans le groupe. Alors il s'avère que ce pote en question a redoublé à cause d'un pb administratif survenu durant son stage, donc il n'a pas eu à se retaper notre promo pour notre dernière année. J'étais donc le seul dans ce merdier.

Je suis de droite, je n'en ai pas honte, mais je suis contraint de me réduire au silence dès qu'un sujet politique est abordé, que ce soit en soirée, au travail, avec n'importe quel groupe qui n'est pas ton cercle proche quoi. J'ai des amis qui partagent le même constat, et j'ai lu beaucoup de témoignages de gens dans des situations similaires.

Aujourd'hui, si on a le malheur de se revendiquer ne serait-ce qu'un tout petit peu de droite, on risque de se faire exclure socialement et de se manger des discours moralisateurs de personnes qui pensent détenir la vérité absolue. Débattre ne sert visiblement à rien, la loi de Godwin se vérifiant à chaque interaction, et ce de plus en plus rapidement. J'imagine même pas ce que ça doit être si on ose critiquer la sainte-immigration.

Je sais que tous les gens de gauche ne sont pas comme ça, et heureusement d'ailleurs, mais être de droite, surtout quand on est jeune, c'est vraiment un boulet au pied.

It’s baffling that all the women, who are all mothers are not understanding that Nia is recently post partum, solely breastfeeding, and have 4 under 4. Her life is hectic and chaotic as well.

Edit: Why are people still bringing up old purchases they’ve made? That doesn’t relate to the topic. I’m saying NOW it’s largely not worth it.
The main point of the post is that the solar sales people act like the economics of owning solar are similar to how it was in 2019 when it’s simply not the case anymore.

There’s a lot of confusion regarding solar regarding the tax credits and whether it’s worth purchasing.

For the most part, solar isn’t not worth getting unless you have a new roof and are planning on staying in your home for a long time.

The biggest misconception is that solar increases the value of the home. Solar is what we call a net zero value similar to a pool. Some people like pools and others (like me) consider them money pits. Same with solar.

A lot of the people pitching solar as well don’t understand the economics of owning solar has largely changed. I had a client who said they could receive 30% tax credit for solar. That’s flatly false. The One Beautiful Bill killed the 30% tax incentive for owning solar. It doesn’t essentially pay for itself and you can’t take that account when calculating the breakeven.

Continuing into the false sales pitch, the client mentioned the salesman mentioned to compare today’s installation cost to future utility savings as if they’re equal. They’re not.

Let’s say a system costs $25,000 and saves you $150 per month, or about $1,800 per year. On paper that’s roughly a 14-year break-even. But that’s actually giving solar the benefit of the doubt because it ignores the time value of money.

A dollar today is worth more than a dollar 10–15 years from now. If you invested that same $25,000 elsewhere, it could be generating returns during that entire period.

Once you account for the present value of money, the true break-even period is often significantly longer than the simple calculation suggests. That’s one of the biggest mistakes people make when evaluating solar.

To add to all of this, there are other downsides such as making roof replacements much more complicated, net metering rules becoming less favorable, equipment failure/replacement, and worse of all that money is tied up in an asset where a lot of things need to go right in order to just break-even.

The only way solar would even be worth considering is if you’re planing on staying on the property for a long time (15 years+), have a new roof, the payback period makes sense without relying on credits, and you purchase it outright.

There was a time where the tax bill largely made sense for owning solar, but now there are very few situations where it makes sense.
